Abu Dhabi has a vibrant academic landscape. The Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) in Abu Dhabi is the Government body responsible for overseeing educational initiatives in all sectors, including public and private education from the foundation stage to the secondary and higher education stages including, technical, vocational and adult education. To facilitate the emerging talent pool of exceptional professionals focusing on science, technology, engineering, mathematics and entrepreneurship, the Government offers a student visa.

  • Abu Dhabi Golden Visa for High School Graduates
    • Duration

      10 years

    • Criteria

      You are eligible if you fulfil the following:

      • A high school graduate from a public school or licensed private school in the UAE with a final score of at least 95% or the criteria set forth by Abu Dhabi Department of Education & Knowledge.
    • Requirements

      To apply for the High School Graduates category, you will need to provide:

       

      For Graduates of Public Schools or Private Schools with the Ministry of Education Curriculum:

      • Grade 12 certificate (95% GPA or higher) attested by the Ministry of Education.
      • Recommendation from the Ministry of Education. (Applications made through the Abu Dhabi Residents webapp will automatically be sent to the Ministry of Education for nomination).

      For Graduates of Private Schools:

      • A high school diploma.
      • Nomination by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education & Knowledge (at the end of every academic year, ADEK nominates students based on a pre-set criteria. These students will receive an invitation to apply for the Abu Dhabi Golden Visa)

      Graduates with a UAE national curriculum degree, can visit the link here to nominate themselves for a Golden Visa through the Abu Dhabi Residents Office.

      Graduates with an international curriculum degree will receive an automated notification once the pre-nomination approval is issued by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge in coordination with their school.

  • Abu Dhabi Golden Visa for University Graduates
    • Duration

      10 years

    • Criteria

      You are eligible if you fulfil the following criteria:

      For Graduates of Universities in the UAE:

      • Hold a Bachelor, Masters, or PhD from a university accredited by the Ministry of Education in the UAE.
      • The university must be classified as A or B according to the accredited universities classification list by the Ministry of Education.
      • GPA must not be less than 3.5 for A classified universities or 3.8 for B classified universities.
      • The graduation year must not be more than two (2) years ago.
      • The degree to be attested by the Ministry of Education.

       

      For Graduates of Universities outside of the UAE (Bachelor’s degree only):

      • The university must be one of the top 100 international universities according to the international classification accredited by the Ministry of Education.
      • GPA must not be less than 3.5 for bachelor graduates.
      • Graduation year must not be more than two (2)years ago.
      • Degree to be attested (Equivalency) by the Ministry of Education.
    • Requirements

      To apply for the University Graduates category, you will need to provide:

       

      For Graduates of Universities in the UAE:

      • Official transcripts evidencing in a final GPA of no less than 3.5 or 3.8 for universities classified as A and B respectively.
      • Bachelor, Masters, or PhD degree issued by an accredited university in the UAE and attested by the Ministry of Education.

      For Graduates of Universities outside of the UAE:

      • Official transcripts showing a final GPA of no less than 3.5.
      • An equivalency certificate issued by the UAE Ministry of Education.
      • A Bachelors certificate.
      • The university must be amongst the top 100 universities in the world as classified by the Ministry of Education. Click here for a list of the top 100 universities.
